As a founder and CBDO, Mike is responsible for guiding GTO’s marketing and business development strategy. He will lead direct and contract sales staff in identifying new sales prospects while driving business growth and requirements for product development that will be coordinated with the rest of the GTO team. He will also be building and maintaining high level contacts with current customers, industry leaders and project partners while identifying new customers and markets.
Mike has a diverse background in business ownership and management in the heavy construction, agriculture, real estate, and outdoor hospitality industries, and has established an extensive network of individual, business, and executive contacts. Mike is a real Western Cowboy, and a gentleman! A 6th generation Coloradan, he was raised as a farmer and rancher, attended Colorado State University, worked in insurance and real estate, and returned to his roots as an executive over large land, ranching, and outdoor hospitality enterprises.
As Director of Engineering Fran is responsible for all the technical details surrounding the GTO technology suite. Fran has over 40 years of technical experience, where he has performed in leadership/management roles in mechanical engineering, application engineering, process development and analytical laboratories. He has also held numerous roles in project management and commissioning and startup. Fran got his start with process equipment manufacturers and, then, Exxon Engineering with multiple assignments at operating facilities around the world. He focused on machinery and specialty equipment for conventional and synthetic fuels processes, including multiple commercial scale startups. Fran then joined various smaller-scale startups focused on waste treatment and renewable energy processes, where he is a co-inventor on multiple patents. Fran has been instrumental in helping companies commercialize their technology, raising state and federal grants and loan guarantees while bringing engineering rigor and R&D processes to their business.
As CEO, Matt’s responsibility is to drive the overall strategic direction of GTO with a focus on growth and maximizing overall value. Matt is a dynamic, results-driven leader as well as a personable and persuasive communicator.
Matt’s strong background as an engineer, project engineer, and manager with Applied Control Equipment, led to increasing opportunities in product and executive management at Range Fuels, URS, & Applied Control Equipment. Matt’s professional and personal life have provided many challenges and strengths to draw upon as he oversees the technology, business development, legal and financial aspects, as a founder and CEO of GTO. Some of Matt’s career accomplishments include acquisitions, operations management, staffing and leading technical teams, as well as development and management of multi-million dollar projects.
Matt is a proud Colorado native who earned his engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, is a licensed engineer (CO), and is currently working on an Executive MBA through the University of Nevada-Reno.
